Gentle tossing of baby

At what age does it become appropriate to toss baby up in air ? My husband is so excited and he likes to play with babies and we just don’t know when we can be a little less gentle with our little one . Super scared of shaken baby syndrome so I haven’t let him .

I’m not sure exactly when but their neck muscles will definitely have to be very strong before they can be tossed

I’d say once they can sit on their own without any support - that means they have good head and neck control and also good abdominal control too

I definitely wouldn’t do it before 1, there seems to be a very fine line with shaken baby syndrome 🤔

Head control needs to be number 1. I would say after 6 months as that’s when they’ve gotten more of their core muscles down pact as well.

at least six months i think. its almost impossible to give your baby shaken baby syndrome from playing, you have to shake them extremely hard and repeatedly. thats why they always call CPS and the cops if a baby gets it

Shaken baby syndrome isn’t from playing with your baby.

Babies brains are still “floating” most of their childhood, it’s not recommended to toss them in the air unless you are always touching their bodies and not letting them go alone in the air

we started at 3 months since our baby has such good head control and now at 6 months it’s his favorite thing ever lol
