Low milk supply

For the past few weeks my milk supply has been so low. I used to produce looooads of milk, but now it’s so little, and my 3 month old gets incredibly frustrated as it finishes within a couple of minutes on both breasts. They’re both so soft and feel empty all the time, meanwhile in the past they’d be huge and engorged in the morning. Feeding seems to be okay during the night, but in the day it’s a bit of a nightmare. Even when I pump I can only get 70-90ml total (I used to get 130-150ml). Is anyone going through the same? How can I increase my supply? I’d also like to mention that my baby spits up SO much milk pretty much constantly, but he doesn’t seem bothered by it in the slightest. I thought the amount would’ve decreased with time, but it seems to be getting a bit worse. Stressed mama!!😓

When I say engorged boobs, I don’t mean rock solid I just mean full but only use if you really need to! It’s worked for me and it’s used traditionally for this purpose x

I felt the same at this time. Milk supply is regulated at this time so you will feel like it’s low but it’s not. I used to pump loads too and then it was so less but it’s fine when you squeeze them milk comes out! Try to have your baby on you feeding that way your milk will stay consistent.

Totally agree with @Aimee , I think it's very unlikely to be signs of low supply. Pumping really isn't an indicator of how much milk you produce, babies are much more efficient than a pump at getting milk 💕

You don't want engorged boobs! Soft boobs are happy boobs. Engorgement risks mastitis

I have always had soft boobs but I recently started boiling prekese pods I get from eBay and now I wake up with engorged boobs, might be worth a try x

Also fenugreek can help some people, but others find it lowers their supply so be wary of that. Hydration is a good call But other than that there's little evidence to support the use of "lactation boosting" cookies, drinks or supplements

This is how you know if they're getting enough https://www.instagram.com/reel/CXixedrAd-E/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== And here's some info about what happens around 3/4 months (on average that's when it happens it varies as we're all individual) https://www.instagram.com/tv/CWlJv-Ogl76/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== https://www.instagram.com/p/CKuAkoYgiCK/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== https://www.instagram.com/p/CKrpazOg6JB/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Here's some info on low supply https://www.instagram.com/tv/CW7-AZPgGyw/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== https://www.instagram.com/p/CXecTBVgu6E/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

To be honest nothing you've said sounds like she isn't getting enough to me. It sounds like your supply has regulated, combined with your baby is feeding faster (happens as they get older) and is fussy as they're more aware of their surroundings. It's really common for women to think they're not producing enough when this happens, but actually low supply is quite rare. I remember crying so much and feeling I was failing my baby when we were at this stage. Your period can have a slight impact on your supply, but your body will always prioritise feeding your baby. I'll share some links from ibclc certified Lactation Consultants that explain this better than I can

Fenugreek is great for boosting your milk supply, continue to pump and stay hydrated and have a healthy diet. I had the same problem but sadly my baby got frustrated and stop at 5 months.
