Swaddle to sleep sack

Has anyone transitioned out of a swaddle? Night 1 in an sleeveless sleep sack.. she got up 2 more times than normal & was more restless during the night. Night 2, so far moves around more. Any tips?

It takes a few nights for them to transition but it’s been going great for us after about a week! We did 1 arm out first and then both to transition

@Andrea are you using any kind of sleep sack?

We transitioned at 3 weeks and she did great and started sleeping 7+ hours at 5 weeks. Now she does 12-14 hours every night at 4 months so maybe that method worked or she’s just a great sleeper 😂

We went with the zipadee zip and she’s still in it at 4 months old. It’s not as effective as a swaddle but it does help her stay asleep. The first few nights were rough but it just takes a little time to get used to. Hang in there, she’ll get it.

We transitioned earlier than most because our little one just wanted her arms out so badly so she could put them behind her head. As soon as she was past the face scratching stage we felt it was okay 😅 The Halo sleep sack works great because you can either keep their arms in or out.

How old is she??

Honestly I did the transition at like 10 weeks cold turkey from the arms up / in sac and it took her a few nights to figure it out but she went back to sleeping as normal. Just give it a few nights, it does suck but it does get better !

I can suggest you to fill one or two cup of rice into a small ziplock (not heavy just lil bit) and put it on their chest or belly somewhere they can feel it as your hand on it :)

I’m going through the same struggle right now :( he keeps taking his soother out and crying unfortunately can’t swaddle anymore because he breaks out of it

I started using the Zipadee Zip to transition from swaddle to sleep sack. It’s designed so they can roll in it still so it’s safe but it helps their reflexes!
