How to quit smoking

Hi! I am about 5-6 weeks pregnant and can’t quit smoking nicotine. Do y’all know any good ways to help me quit?

I went cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant. I smoked for almost 15 years. I was miserable for 3 weeks almost, i tried hydrating, liver and lungs detox vitamins and meditation when anxiety hit and tbh it helped very little but I kept reading about all negative effects on baby and that helped me stay strong. Its almost a lil over a month now and I promise it gets better.

I just did it cold turkey. It was miserable for a few days. Still hard for a couple weeks then it just got easier. But look it up there’s something about orange juice and cream of tartar I think

So this sounds kind of…well here goes. When I smoked I pictured my poor little baby in my womb and the womb just filling with smoke and causing baby to cough and try to say stop. It sounds so cruel put like that but it helped. For my second baby it was more difficult to quit so I’d slowly stop smoking the cigs by putting them out halfway through one. Then eventually cut that down even more. It’s so hard but possible!!

You can try nicotine patches or gum temporary and pick up a new hobby to take breaks and do instead of smoking. One of my college professors took up small figure wood carving. You could try playing a game on your phone if it needs to be easy.

I had some spotting around 7 weeks and just promised myself if baby was ok I wouldn’t smoke again and I didn’t. I smoked for years btw. It’s mostly mental and the habits associated with smoking.
