So your typical heart beat is a steady “whoosh-whoosh-whoosh” and the baby’s will be identifiable because it’s rapid. It will be more like “bump bump bump bump bump” if you get a low number and have had no concerns at the doctor, it is most likely yours. Home fetal Doppler are not live or die by. I recently went through what you are, I am also an L&D nurse. Im telling you, do not worry. Baby is still little and you may not hear them until closer to 16 weeks anyway.

You’re baby is still too small. It’s easier to detect on ultrasound. You won’t be able to hear baby’s heartbeat on Doppler until your baby and belly grows. Once belly is more rounded then it’s easier. I work for an OBGYN

My doctor said don’t use a Doppler until your in your 2nd trimester 13+ weeks. 1. It can harm the baby with all the waves going through 2. Ppl freak out bc they see the heartrate is low bc it’s actually the mommas heart There’s so many reasons to wait until your 2nd trimester ask your doctor for more information

So the easiest way to tell if what you are hearing is your heartbeat, I do a neck pulse check and if it is following along then it’s mine. Full bladder and tilting my uterus (legs/pelvis on pillows) has also helped me because I have a tilted uterus. Sometimes baby’s heartbeat is super close to placenta sounds and hard to catch. Keep trying and don’t get discouraged, it can be hard to catch the first trimester since baby’s heart is so small.

I don’t have one but a doctor told me he has seen so many patients freaking out because they can’t find the heartbeat but everything is alright

Yeah but it’s not showing me any numbers when I find the heartbeat that’s why I think it’s mine
