@Katie we also tried swaddling and it works for us. We swaddle him, rock him in my arms for about 10 min max and then lower him into the snuzpod with his head last. I keep my hand on his chest and gently rock him for a minute before backing away ;) The above works for us consistently for the last week x
We’re in exactly the same boat. Trying swaddling tonight. No advice, but I hope you feel better knowing you aren’t alone at 3am x
My baby girl is the exact same but in the day time, will not let me put her down anywhere in the daytime but night time she is fine! I would defo recommend swaddling though as that seemed to really help my baby settle xx
Thank you everybody ❤️ I took me 6 hours to get her to sleep for 2 hours 5-7am. We’ll get there eventually x x x x
It's soo hard! I think we think they should just sleep , but really they are learning too , day from night etc. this is my baby no 4. And I finally see that I just have to go with the flow, I am totally shattered and 3 other children to look after but I honestly know too well how fast each stage goes and before you know it they are at school lol! I know It's easier said than done when sleep deprived but I'm trying to enjoy the nights when it's just me and my baby girl. I need to try sleep when she sleeps in the day as she's doing the same thing and sleeping much longer periods lol I think it's all the back ground noise that she stays asleep too. That's another thing you could try is white noise :) You got this xxx
I tried soothing mine by letting them suck on my finger, so I didn’t have to pick him back up and could reach across to do it in next to me… the cluster feeding is hard! Hope you both get a longer sleep soon!
Have you tried swaddling? My little boy was fine at night then he started cluster feeding that passed but after would not stay asleep once put down, we started swaddling and it’s brilliant sleeps right through to next feed (4 hours)
I'm literally sat here 4am having been up since the 2am feed trying to get LO to sleep. Same as you put him down he wakes, won't settle, goes on the breast for maybe 5mins, falls asleep and then cycle repeats 😫😴😴
I had this exact same situation with my little girl (8 days old) and I actually did end up falling asleep with her on my chest a few times😥. After some research I found that putting her in her Moses basket/next to me crib pretty much straight after she’s been fed and burped, she started to associate them with sleep. Last night and tonight have been so much better for her sleep wise which has in turn allowed me and my partner to get more sleep too! I know it’s hard but stick at it girl, what works for you will find it’s way x
@Lee what’re you putting your baby in to swaddle him? Just a vest or a sleep suit too? X
