Has anyone been told to cut out night feeds for silent reflux?

The doctor said to cut out all night feeds to make baby more comfortable and help sleep at night. She currently cosleeps with me and wakes up every two hours and feeds a few times in the night. Once it hits 3am, it gets really bad though and she pretty much has to sleep on me.

@Leah that makes sense, thank you!

@Payal he has always started the night in his cot and the second half of the night he would come in our bed because he was stiring so much and keeping me awake. We went cold turkey with them but he had his dummy. Aslong as he got what he needed in the day, I wasn’t to worried about him having the night feed x

Yes - we cut night feeds by feeling little and often throughout the day. Started every 2 hours between 7am and 7pm with an 11pm, and then gradually extended to 3 hour intervals. Once we were happy with his weight, instead of giving him a feed at 11 we would see when he woke up for one and eventually he just didn’t. Didn’t happen overnight though!

How old is your LO? Mine is only 6 weeks so I couldn’t cut out night feeds yet. But 3 am on is HORRIBLE for us as well, he is pretty much on me too. You aren’t alone mama 💗

@Leah was he able to sleep in his cot? My baby is 8 months so I really want to cut night feeds. How did you manage to cut them?

Yeah we did but only when my son was 5.5 months old and well over his birth weight. Also started solids! He slept a lot better as it gave his digestive time to reset overnight. We also did 4 hourly feeds as this is actually better then little and often x

My LO is 6 months adjusted and we are starting the process to manipulate the volume to get rid of the overnight feeds She's a preemie and weight gain is extremely slow
