Getting your tubes tied..

Has anyone on here thought about or has actually gotten their tubes tied or even taken out? We just had our third baby a month and a half ago and she was our oops baby lol (though obv now we are very happy for the oops lol) but we are DONE having kids. Both mentally and financial reasons why we do not want any more kids and we both agree on that. My husband is getting a vasectomy but I am thinking of getting my tubes tied as well. My OB actually does a complete tubal removal which I had never heard of before, just the tying of the tubes. I’m just trying to find people who have gone through this already. Like what kind of symptoms have people experienced afterwards, etc..

I’m contemplating it. I’m pregnant with number 5 (6 if you include my miscarriage) and all but my first I was on birth control when I got pregnant. I’m very limited due to meatball health and hormones. I’m terrified of being put under etc so I don’t know what to do. My better half has offered to get a vasectomy my I dunno. This is his second child (we also have an almost 2 year old together)

I had my tubes out during my c-sec with baby #2, which added very little to the surgery and nothing to recovery. From what I understand, removal of the tubes decreases some chances for cancer vs just tying, which is why it's more common now. I don't think anything has changed for me that pregnancy and age wouldn't already have. Still have ovaries producing all those hormones, still have a uterus to give me a lovely, useless period... Definitely nice not having to worry about pregnancy, while also not taking birth control which would interfere with natural hormones and cycles! My husband would have gotten a vasectomy, but since I was already in surgery, it made more sense

I just had my second baby 5 months ago and my OB removed mine during my c-section. She only does removals as well because just “tying” them doesn’t always work. Not a hard recovery and didn’t change my cycle at all since I still have all my other reproductive organs!

I got tubes removed that way there is a ZERO chance of pregnancy. I’ve heard of way to many people getting pregnant and getting them tied. It was all pretty simple for me. Did pre op and the hospital and at the drs office had testing done and the surgery was fast and recovery was really easy at least it was for me I didn’t have any complications
