Menopur injection worse than gonal-f?

I’m finding that my morning menopur injections hurt so much more than my gonal-f injections at night. Is this expected? I feel like maybe I’m not using my rediject pen properly, but the dosage is going down to zero when I’m done pushing 😬 I ice before both injections…

Ok with menopur along with icing after mixing the medication let it sit out on the counter for 20 minutes before drawing it up and injecting. Really cuts down on the sting.

Menopur is 100% more painful than gonal. I don’t remember any pain associated with gonal. My recommendations are to go slow with menopur as it will lessen the burn. I also recommend taking a cotton pad and putting pressure on the injection site for about 10 seconds after you pull the needle out (my nurses advice), I noticed this decreased my chances of bruising at the injection site. Also, rotate around your belly so you can give each injection site a break, I usually went in a half circle around my belly button.

I would say to try to ice a bit longer for the menopur. If I didn’t give myself at least 5 minutes of icing, it stung. You might just need longer for the area to fully numb. If you put on biker shorts, you can just tuck it in and then take your time mixing the meds.

I didn’t feel it really at all and since I did both at the same time, usually the numbing effect was gone. I think there’s just something about the needle and the stability of holding it versus having to press the plunger on the syringe. It doesn’t have to hurt to work :)

Oh it’s more just me not trusting myself because the gonal f injection didn’t hurt at all and the site isn’t sore. Whereas the menopur sites hurt like a B

Menopur does sting and I always found that the syringe needle was a little more felt than the pen. My plan was doing them both at night though so I had a really clear comparison. I would try icing for longer for the menopur. If you leave it long enough, it does really numb the area. I used those ice packs that look like they have orbees in them because they conform to the body better. What’s your concern about the pen not being right?
