This is probably going to sound stupid but I spent a bunch of money on “nice” sippy cups that we had no luck with just to have daycare tell me to stop sending him with them because he likes their cheap “take and toss” ones better. They leak a little tiny bit of water through the holes and I think that was enough for my son to be like “oh! Something’s in there!”
I like the Mushie straw cup, I did the finger on the straw thing too, you hold the water in and let go when you feel suction. I used that for training and now she'll also drink from the Munchkin straw cup with the weighted straw that's better for travel but it did take a while for her to learn how to drink from it. I also like these open cups, like the ezpz tiny cup but comes with 2, one with handles and one without: https://a.co/d/fiKwMzD All of these still get thrown sometimes 😂 it's part of learning!
https://youtu.be/D2fEzwY3dRo this technique helped me!!
I’ve also used a regular sippy no straw he didn’t like it. We just kept giving it to him it took him awhile like a month n out of no where he got it😂 it was funny to hear
@Maya I do recommend this one I used a micky mouse one only one they had at the store😂 n he kept slamming the ears into his face ftm mistake didn’t think about it😆 but they didn’t that this one recently bought it n he LOVES it
I used my finger to fill the straw & hold the water & then I let her realize the water comes from the straw (she would just bite it before) and she got the hang of using the straw after a couple minutes. Now because I haven’t found a good straw cup that I like it’s been kind of annoying having to reintroduce the straw every time but that’s a tip that works for us
putting yogurt on the straw really helped us!
I have tried so many cups this boy just throws them
My daughter used the dr brown sippy bottle with the straw honestly best thing ever !
My little girl is 6 months and I got her to take water from a Tommy tippee cup with a straw by putting some yogurt on the straw. It took two goes of putting yogurt on it and she realised to suck it. Hope that helps xx
@Claire 🥰🙌🏼
Just keep offering it, and let them see you drinking out of similar cups, they’ll figure it out in the end
Put yogurt on the tip (enough for baby to suck)
