Pregnacare/ supplements

Does anyone know how long you can take this supplement or how long you need to take supplements throughout your pregnancy in general? What other supplements are advisable?

To be honest it is only vital to take folic acid for the first 12 weeks and then vitamin d for the rest of the pregnancy. If you have no deficits which will be checked via blood tests there is actually no need to take any supplements x

you can take them throughout the full pregnancy. i got pregnancare max and i’ve got loads left so i’ve just continued with it all. they recommend to keep taking vitamin D after 12 weeks if you’re not taking the full vitamins option xx

You can get the same supplements from your supermarket for less, also check boots.

I guess it also depends on your diet too like Ella said, most vitamins come from food but it doesn’t harm to top them up x

Throughout the whole of pregnancy you are advised to take pregnancy specific vitamins but I’ve swapped brands and that’s okay too: and there are some brands that provide post pregnancy vitamins to help healing. The main thing is a mixture of multivitamins (but not vitamin A) and folic acid xx

So I actually spoke to my midwife about this the other day and she said the only things that are vital to take are folic acid and vitamin D, which you can get prescribed by your dr or midwife She said all the other vitamins we get from food/our environment and that pregnacare and all other pregnancy vitamins just make a killing out of people taking them and then taking the after birth ones when you don’t actually need them
