A reminder to the higher earning families to claim child benefit

You still get the NI credits even if you can't claim the money. If you or your partner earn over 50k you could still be entitled to some child benefit, you just need to complete a self assessment tax return. It will also mean your child is automatically issued their NI Number at 16 x

@Amy I was having trouble with the online form so I called HMRC. The Child Benefit office were really helpful and sent me a paper copy. This was in there x

Also you can nominate a grandparent to get the NI credits If neither you or your partner needs them, the grandparent just has to look after the child for atleast 1 hour per week I'm nominating them to my mother which will top up her pension as she will be having Remy one day a week x
