Switching to cows milk

Hi! My little girl is 11 months old (7 months corrected) and she is still only on 2 meals a day, and has not dropped a bottle yet. She has about 600ml of formula a day. It's the SMA gold prem 2 formula for prem babies. Our consultant has said we can now switch to cows milk but she will just need much more of it, however I'm so nervous to do this as she's still having so many bottles each day. Has anyone got any advice? I also don't know how I'd keep cows milk during the day when we go out. Everything I've read says that you shouldn't switch until she is on 3 meals a day and is getting enough nutrition from food. She is really funny about food and won't eat any thick textures so we are still only on fruit and veg purees at the moment. The doctor said she would just need more cows milk as its not as calorific as the formula. Is it really OK to switch her at this stage? And how would I store the milk if I was going out for the whole day? Any advice/experience greatly appreciated as I've been really stressing about it lately! My daughter is small anyway (13lb) and I really don't want anything to affect her slow but steady growth. Thank you! 🙏

With the food; I found my prem baby took longer to get into it- much closer to her corrected gestation and doing blw really helped. As for milk I swapped to cows milk gradually so that she got used to the taste but I did that at 12 months old (9 corrected) and when she turned 1 she dropped 2 bottles literally the night of her birthday

Not long ago with my son 14mths (11 months) corrected we was told to do a combo of his current Aptamil pepti junior and introduce Aptamil 1 mixed in , so for example we did 30mls Aptamil1 mixed with 200mls of his normal perscription milk , to see how he tolerated it we did this over a week so by the end he had one full bottle of no1 a day and the rest his normal milk. He was doing great then we had an issue with pharmacy and we couldn't get his milk, so we had no choice and went full throttle with no1 with all feeds.... omg he didn't like it and had wet nappies daily... so I stopped went bk to his perscription milk as we'd had some delivered..... then had a follow-up with the neonatal doctor he said to carry on but introduce dairy into his food instead, which seems to be working great now. Our Dr is kinda laid back and said not to worry really.... sorry to waffle on but I just thought your not alone ,,, I think every baby does everything at different stages , I'm in no rush 💜

My little boy who’s also on formula hasn’t been told to swap to cows milk yet. He’s 13 months old 10 corrected. There’s no way that I’d swap until he’s one corrected I think x
