Ear infection or teething?
How would you spot an ear infection? LO has been pulling at his ears so I put it down to teething but I’ve just pulled a big chunk of ear wax out so now thinking what if it’s an ear infection? He’s also been drinking less milk at a time but not sure if again this could be due to teething or just the warmer weather. Any advice? TIA

My 5 months old is always pulling his right ear. Not teething yet and no ear infection either. I was told it's possible he's just discovered so it plays with it or he's soothing himself. I did notice he does it more often just before falling asleep 😉😁

If the ear inside is red, weepy or the wax is very dark/extremely sticky it could be an ear infection (I used to get them all the time as I have hearing problems). Does he cry whilst pulling his ears? Could be another sign of an infection. If you’re worried you could always book in with your GP and they could check for you? My LO is drinking less too but I figured it was a combo of teething and the warm weather tbh x
