Rapid weight gain

I am 27 weeks today and I weighed myself yesterday during a midwife appointment ..to find out I have already put on 9kg since the beginning! It kinda shocked me (I work in fitness and I’m constantly under pressure to look decent) and this surely does not help with body image issues. I have eaten pretty much what I wanted so far and in large quantities ..I’m not gonna pretend this comes as a surprise! But I have always used to eat a lot and stay the same if makes sense. It really made me feel down and equally I don’t want to start dieting now as I know it won’t be good for the baby. How is your weight gain going? 🫠

I was into fitness a lot and this pregnancy had severe vomiting and did not keep food well and still managed to gain 4kg. I am surprised by it. I think if you dont have diabetes a bit of weight gain is good. I am sure when baby is born we loose it again.

Same for me too. Started off at 61kg and now over 70kg. I was super into fitness and missed months of it with feeling ill. Now able to do 2xgym a week and baby indoor bike workouts suitable for pregnancy. I'm almost 27 weeks pregnant and people have started telling me how biggg I am as if its a surprise. Just got to keep telling myself its the baby inside there and all things helping it to grow xx

This happened to me, it's so hard. I used to go to the gym everyday make better food choices. I've gained 1st 12 so far ( that was 2 weeks ago weight probably more now) I tell mt self im going to make better food choices and exercise bit more, I not been to the gym fot 2 weeks due to changing jobs working 12-hour shifts and the heat. You’re also carrying a baby, so your weight isn’t just your own. All of the weight you put on, is beneficial for your babies health, development and survival. Once they are born, then you can focus on getting back to how you were! I’m 28 weeks, I was 6 stone before pregnant and I believe I’m around 9/10 stone now. None of my clothes fit me anymore but that’s okay!

How much weight you’ve gained remember the weight isn’t just yourself it’s the baby’s weight aswell as their getting heavier and the placenta will weigh too plus the sac which is filling up with fluids so I wouldn’t put too much pressure on yourself it’s all normal and can be lost once babys born in a safe way if u feel the need to x

i really wouldn’t consider that rapid weight gain at all, i’m 27 weeks tomorrow and have gained about 8kg and i’m happy with that! We are growing a baby at the end of the day, don’t be so hard on yourself xx
