Hey. Yeah I took my baby in a carrier and it’s ok. It was fine. But that’s of course a personal preference. Uber drivers allow it.

Yeah you can have them on your lap in a taxi it’s legal x

Taxi/Uber is legally considered public transportation so it’s legal to not have a car seat. I’ve been in an Uber using a carrier too. I’d prefer a car seat for safety but sometimes it’s not an option. With some taxi companies you can book ahead and request a car seat as well

Yep I’ve done it on rare occasions with my toddler. Also - Black cabs have room for prams if you want, so they are at least strapped in

Depends on where you live. Laws have recently changed in NY requiring car seats in taxi cabs. How enforced this law is depends on the driver tbh. They do have Uber car seat rides though. May not be super up to date and most likely FF, but it’s an option.

You can, but legal and safe are 2 very different things.

Not safe at all. Take her infant carrier with you. You could still have an accident even in an Uber. Personally I wouldn’t risk it, legal doesn’t mean safe.

I sometimes take my baby in an Uber and just hold her - it is what it is

The Uber website says children under 15 months need a rear facing car seat. I guess there is a difference between what they are saying on their website and what happens in practice. I use FREENOW and order black cabs to get around London as it’s easy with the pushchair x
