Advice needed!! Possible waters going

Okay so this time last night and tonight, I’ve had a significant amount of water in my underwear that’s making me think have I wet myself or have my waters gone. I’ve had a very tiny amount of snot like substance on the toilet paper today but nothing else since. My belly keeps going hard and I’ve just now started getting some very mild cramping just above my pubic bone. Same happened last night. This is my first baby so I’m not sure if it’s very early labour or Braxton hicks and the other things are just coincidental. Can you have contractions without pain?

I would contact midwife and get checked

I thought my waters had gone so I rang my maternity unit and they got me in so they could test and check so best to call them x

Defo get tested, cos if it is your waters you need antibiotics and regular checks from now on x

Def contact to be on the safe side. Hope all is ok. Keep us updated when you can x

Call your maternity line x

It sounds like it is your waters and mucus plug but like everyone’s said get checked and keep us informed! Think you’re the first in the group to go into labour!!

So I called triage and they told me to go to the toilet and empty my bladder then put on a maternity pad and lie on my left side. I did all that and no more water has come out. I did have a weird pushing/opening sensation in my vagina but nothing else has happened since. I’ve got to keep the pad on and see if anything else happens. My body is weird so I’m not expecting a straight forward labour 🤦🏻‍♀️

This is handy to know if it happens to any of us

Surprised they haven’t got you in to check to be honest keep a close eye on things and tell them you want them to test to be sure if you’re worried. They put a speculum inside me and took a swab then tested it to see if it contained any amniotic fluid x

I had exactly the same as Emma, they swabbed and it was amniotic fluid. It’s really important to know if it is because (I was told) the infection risk increases massively and antibiotics are needed. If you’re a few weeks from being due they’ll want to do weekly (at least) blood tests to check your infection markers. There’s also a 50/50 chance of going into Labour within 48 hours so every time I’ve lost water (10 and counting…) they want to keep you in to observe you. I’m always cautious to swap medical advice on here as it’s so specific, but do think it might be worth pushing your triage team on this because the last thing you want in an infection or surprise Labour! X

I'd get checked lovely and ring up your pregnancy assessment unit if you have one at hospital. I'm due in Aug and I had a slow trickle of water a few weeks ago, hubby suspected it was my waters going and we went to hospital - they did the speculum examination and they confirmed they went. I've just been on antibiotics and steroids since with close monitoring since x

How have you been since @Pagan

@Annie I’ve been okay. Woke up this morning with the top of my bump rock hard and some pains in that area. I don’t know if baby has shoved herself right up there or if it’s the start of slow labour, I’ll see if I get any more pain. It’s not how I expected labour to start though

Good luck @Pagan xxx
