Advice!

My son does not like to be changed anymore. It is such a pain in the ass! He's like a damn alligator all twisting and turning! Should I start potty training? When do you start working on that? I'm a first time mom

@Victoria you teaching how to potty train ?

@Shynia give him a bottle or something before you take the diaper off, then throw a wipe over him so he won’t spray everywhere just in case 😂

@Shynia sure will my daughter pee on me but she getting it. I can tell because now if she start peeing she will stop herself if she in my arms. We go diaperless in the morning.

My daughter is 17 months we started at one. Just really sitting a few mins a day to get her comfortable with the potty. And she would surprisingly use it here and there. We officially started potty training at 15 months. She tells me when she poop in her pull up and wants it off immediately so I figured it’s time. She pee in the pot everyday not all day. Pooping is hard she rather poop in her pull up. But if I see her hiding I pick her up.

Mine has been doing the same thing, I offer her a bottle when changing her and that usually does the trick ❤️ if not too many small toys to hold works also 😂

My son is 15 months. I think we could start potty training now but he’s not walking yet so I at least want to wait till then Lol we are also about to move and then have a baby in October sooo it’s a lot going on so I think I’m gonna wait till maybe the holidays to try. I’m not sure haha. But what we have to do for changing him is literally like hold him down sometimes. Or give a bottle or toy. We also will change him standing up and will quickly do his clothes while he’s moving around so he isn’t laying down for long.

So many of us are posting and struggling with this lol definitely a sign of the age! My daughter is a late walker and just started so I’m going to be starting doing standing changes for this reason. We have toys at the ready but I think a lot of it is independence. I do sing and talk and play which can help if she’s in the right mood. I’m going to try standing for wee and then dumping her poop in the toilet and showing her , changing her in the bathroom, and put her on a potty starting once a day to see how it goes with little pressure more education as she’s showing signs she’s about there to slowly begin potty training 😭 she tells me when she poops and goes to her changing station when she has a dirty diaper. This is definitely all normal for all of us right now and some show signs of potty training earlier than others! But the struggle feels like independence

School age for bedtime accidents can make the issue even more traumatizing for them. Try to have patience and I wish you luck.

Potty training and was quite content with staying in diapers it took almost 2 yrs to fully potty train her. My 2nd born was a lot quicker as she absolutely hated being in diapers. If she had an accident in her diaper she would just cry about it. She was also always quite independent so she wouldn’t care much to get someone to take her to the potty and would just strip out of her clothes and diaper and make a dash for the bathroom. Having only one bathroom in my house made this a problem also since she was such a quick learner and quite short even when the bathroom was empty she ran into another problem, she couldn’t get onto the toilet on her own. I bought her a little stepstool and snap on toilet seat for her since she was not going to get any less independent and it took her barely a yr to get the hang of going potty on her own. Also even if they do well in the daytime there will still be bedtime accidents. This is already uncomfortable enough for the child. Scolding any child under+

I started potty training mine as soon as they could walk. It’s a lengthy process but I stated with taping copy paper to the toilet and letting them sit on the potty backwards immediately after diaper changes before putting the new diaper on. Set a timer for 10-15 mins. If they go reward them cheer them on etc, if they don’t use it that’s okay too use this time to teach them how to wipe properly flush and wash hands. Eventually they’ll start coming to you when they need to go potty for assistance with the toilet. Sometimes they’ll get you in time so they make it and sometimes you’ll need to put a fresh diaper on bc they might’ve tinkled or pooped a little bit before making it to the potty. Always praise them for any effort they make as it motivates them to do better and don’t scold for accidents during this process as it will make them feel less comfortable with coming to get you for assistance. Keep in my every child is different as well. My first born was VERY lazy when it came to +

Yep I think we're all in this situation... it's it only boys though?? Lol... maybe should've had a girl 😂 I try to divert his attention with a different toy and etc but it only buys me like 2 seconds, literally. Then I grab his diaper, cream, butt cream etc just throwing them all at him.. lol nope he just throws it overboard so it's just more work for me when I finally get his clothes on for bed.

Oh yeah it’s like an Olympic sport! Making a bunch of animal noises helps with my son sometimes. I’ll have him do all the sounds he knows and then I’ll do a bunch more. Or whipping my hair around all crazy seems to crack him up lol. Obviously don’t do that when the diaper is open!

My son has been doing the same. I’m not sure about potty training but my son has gotten so much better since I added a little basket of toys to hand him while I’m changing his diaper. Really simple small balls and books, etc. When we are out and about I just change him standing up.

If my daughter doesn’t have a poopy diaper I usually change her standing up. She’s 16 months and started hating the changing table recently as well

Mine flops like a fish🙄. I do his diaper and then I change his clothes standing up. Potty training the earliest is probably 2. And they’ll show signs such as: being upset when wet/poopy. Staying dry for long periods of time, hides while pooping etc

Somebody let me know too ! 😭😭 I been going through this for a little min
