Silent reflux and tapped wind

My little one has been suffering from silent reflux (with the occasional sick) and trapped wind. I spoke to my GP yesterday who Haa prescribed her gaviscon infant. I used this once last night in her bedtime feed. All through the night she has been really restless and having crying spells, arching her back and trying to pass wind but has been unable to. Am I able to give dentibox Colic drops alongside the gaviscon with her feeds? Also how long do both take to work? Any experiences with either gaviscon or dentinox appreciated 😊

My LO with silent reflux was on Gaviscon before every feed for a while. She was also on specific medication that acted on the issue, where Gaviscon just acts on the pain (but that might be all that’s needed!). I would have thought she can have colic drops too yes, but if in doubt check with a doc or pharmacist.

@Claire thank you, I will try and speak to a pharmacist, I just wondered if anyone on here had had a similar experience and used both. That sounds like what the GP was talking about using if the gaviscon doesn't help after 2 weeks, said instead of blocking the fluid from coming back up it acts more to reduce the acid in the stomach x

I feel for you. Our LB didn’t have any sickness just silent reflux where he was bringing up acid and swallowing it in pain, he’d scream for about 2-3 hours until his next feed. Gaviscon and Omeprazole didn’t work for us 😭 we ended up having to change milk to Kendamil Goat Milk (the proteins are smaller to digest which can really help with reflux) and swaddle him with a light blanket during feeding, holding upright and letting him drink the entire bottle (around 150ml) with a MAM 0 teat or a Lasinoh S teat, then letting him burp afterwards. Usually get 3-5 big burps so we know he’s good. No trapped wind or constipation. And keep him upright whilst we stand up (holding him between the legs) after every feed for 15 mins after - annoying during a night feed but WOW game changer! Good luck sweet xx

@Courtney thank you. We feed upright and hold her upright for around 20/30 minutes after each feed but doesn't seem to be helping 😔 she just really struggles to bring up the wind. We've tried all different ways of winding her. Occasionally she may bring up a few burps but still seems to be in pain after x
