Closing her eyes around stranger

Hi Out of nowhere my daughter closes her eyes whenever a stranger or other adults one. She doesnt do it with kids, only adults apart her mom dad. At first it looks hillarious, then its getting worse as she would scream and cry when strangers around while closing her eyes and refuse to face them or be near them at all. Any momma experiences this? Any suggestion? Its kind of bothersome as well for me as she uses me as handbag when strangers around and really not safety outside. Is it a temporary phase?

Sounds like a phase and she's just become shy and wary of strangers which is actually a good thing

My little boy does exactly this! He used to do it and scream but now just does it with his eyes and peeks at them x

My sons started doing similar, covering his eyes with his hands, I'm guessing its just a phase x

hey mumma, do you make her nervous about strangers? have you implied heavily about stranger danger etc? are you nervous around people you dont know speaking to you etc? if you are for any of these children do copy and if they’ve witnessed or been told to be nervous or act nervous she may just be copying xx

@Poppy yes she such an observant. She is ok with her childminder (at the beginning it was like this but then she get used to it)

@Chantelle i hope so, mom! Are you noticed he migh copying from somewhere? Mine just out of the blue

@Charlee hi dear, no thats why Im worried..im not having social anxiety its actually if we meet stranger or people im over friendly with them and mostly include my daughter in convo. But tbh myself not really a social active as with work full time and baby on the way..it is just too much :" hmm do you think that would make difference if I meet more people bringing her just so she observes? She does go to childminder mon to friday with lots of playgroup (meet other adults) actvities but still not progresa

It sounds completely normal and just a phase with her being more aware of strangers like someone else said it’s a good thing

@rossie yeah it may just be she isnt used to the situation so she doesnt know how to react, is it just when theyre talking to her or if they cuddle her?
