Positive Birth Company

Hi All, Just posting in case it’s helpful to others but I bought the hypnobirthing pack (on offer) and it was amazing in explaining labour and birth. I then did buu the Post Partum pack which I’m just listening to - it talks about breastfeeding, mental health, relationships, baby sleep, bottle feeding … it is all a bit expensive but honestly compared to books I’ve found the information goes in so easily and is just so helpful. It’s making me feel more confident so just wanted to recommend the packs to anyone who hasn’t heard of them etc x

I've just started the hypnobirthing course, I'm glad you found it helpful! And I may have to look into the post partum pack from your recommendation, thank you!

It’s brilliant isn’t it! I can’t recommend it enough either x

If anyone does prefer books the one Siobhan Miller wrote, who runs PBC, is also great. Same info, just different format 😊 I read the book and then got the course so I could watch with my husband. Really useful and feeling weirdly calm (dare I say excited?) about the whole process of labour

So pleased you guys have enjoyed it all too! I got the postpartum and early years pack in a bundle - just the right amount of knowledge to help us feel prepared :)

Can I ask... what gaps in your knowledge has it covered? What have you learnt?

Don't forget all the other stuff leading up to it, midwife says hypnobirthing is great but is more of the icing on the cake to help but you need to know your physiology and anatomy background first xx @thehonestmidwife on Instagram. Just done the free class is amazing

Yer ofc :) the hypnobirthing course was all new to me. But the post partum pack - I have not really been around babies at all. How to breastfeed, bottle feed, mental health and even what I can expect from sleep … it’s not too in-depth but found it great. They’ve chosen experts for the post partum pack like Anna Mathur for mental health etc

@KATRINA yeah that's basically what all the hypnobirthing I've read has been - understanding what your body actually does - muscle movement, hormone responses, brain chemistry. Anyone who says hypnobirthing is only breathing probabaly hasn't looked into it properly. Getting info from different sources will always help make sure all bases are covered ☺️

@Vicky for me the first chapter of the book/first group of videos. All about what your body does in the various stages of labour, like what is actually happening to your muscles during a contraction and how different responses to them can slow them down or make them more efficient.

Look at the naked doula on Instagram too! Posting from April 2023 babies and I did the positive birth company hypnobirthing and had the naked doula app! Had the most amazing labour thanks to them!🫶🏼🫶🏼

Thank you will check the app out :)

@Hannah OK, thanks. Does it cover situations like shoulder dystocia, fetal distress, c sections? or postpartum issues like incontinence, tearing, prolapse?

@Vicky off the top of my head I don't remember and I haven't done the post partum one. Generally, it's about how you might cope with those situations rather than like medical advice about specific complications - hope that makes sense

@Hannah this is how I feel too! Have gone from feeling petrified to excited and ready to embrace it!

https://open.spotify.com/episode/44dZi3y9AkQm4Ten0sUGk2?si=1zMbvw70Tu6Dd0WIqa1ifw Really interesting podcast from Happy Mum, Happy Baby about Hypnobirthing with the women who taught the people who set up PBC. Good if the idea of hypnobirthing is a bit alien to you.
