Timeline for private treatment

Husband has been diagnosed with low sperm count (1.5mil per ml) and low morphology (1%) so we have decided to plow ahead with ICSI and have decided to go private. We're booking in with CRGW Plymouth and have looked at a few reviews and are happy with it. I suppose I'm asking if anyone has had treatment at this clinic before, but mainly what to expect next. Next steps as far as I know is getting my scan and bloods done, and then talking to the consultant. But how quick do things happen after speaking to consultant does anyone know?

Have they not offered your husband clomid to boost numbers? My husband had a sperm count of 2mil.. repeated I think 8 weeks later and was 5mil so prescribed clomid. Next sperm analysis just before we started icsi was 33million and on day of my egg collection was 16million. No idea what it is now but we fell pregnant naturally with our second baby over Xmas and honestly think clomid helped massively as before our son (fresh icsi round) we were trying for about 4 years x

@Victoria no, GP hasn't offered anything yet. We have only been trying 3 months. GP wants to wait until after 2nd semen analysis which is fair enough (the test is next Tuesday). Hubby has made several lifestyle changes since, and the previous one was shortly after we returned from honeymoon so he's really hoping for better numbers next time. However he has structural issues that we believe is causing low numbers rather than being unexplained (previous mumps, torsion, infection and also currently a varicocele, poor guy)

I didn’t have ivf due to male factor , we had it because I had PCOS. But all in all from the scans , the consultant, the egg collection, the transfer was about 5-6 weeks. It was so quick !! D

We had ICSI privately due to MFI. Essentially we had a consultation and then once you pay you can start on your next cycle. It’s super quick. We weren’t with that clinic but I imagine all are the same. My husbands numbers were similar to yours. Non prescribed Supplements helped but didn’t improve to where it was considered normal. I’m now 35 weeks. It took a few transfers. But I think that was the embryos. They aren’t all guaranteed to take.

@Ellen hiya! Thanks so much for that info😍 I love a spreadsheet so I'm definitely stealing this idea. I'm glad you've had a good experience with CRGW, they are basically the only clinic option for us as we live in Cornwall but everything I've read has been very positive.

@Danielle thank you, I got the impression it was super quick from what they said. My husband has given up hot baths which he loves and drinking alcohol which he also loves 😭 along with eating better and supplements. He's hoping to see an improvement after the next sample but if there isn't then we've still got plenty for ICSI

@Charlotte thanks, I got the impression it would be very fast! We are both teachers so hoping to get as much done over the summer holidays as possible. If I can get egg collection done when I don't have to worry about work that would be so helpful

@Charley yeh precisely !! I was starting a new job so I had time , managed to get all of it done before I started the new job!
