Gaviscon & gripe water

Hi has anyone’s baby been on gaviscon and used gripe water at the same time? My LB has reflux but he also gets wind! So I didn’t know if they can be used together? I googled it and it says it’s ok but still worried

If you’re worried schedule a call with your health visitor. Wind is normal :)

He gets trapped wind to the point his screaming in pain

Yes we did. Was using both due to reflux issues caused by my LB tongue tie. Thankfully it has eased up so only use them if i notice he is windy/refluxy. I believe the label of the gripe water says no more than 6 times a day for 10 days. Then contact the GP we was advised it was ok as it worked for us but its worth a phone call x

@Rachel hwy sorry I know this is an old thread, did you administer them both at the same time? How did you work this out sorry

@Demi i just mixed them in his bottle. So milk powder, gaviscon and then add hot boiling water (mix with a spoon- don’t shake) and then we either let it cool down or used rapid cool if out. Then topped off with 2.5 ml of gripe water (doesage is 5ml i believe- but thats what worked for us. We did end up on cows milk free milk in the end at 4 months old. But we kept the gaviscon and gripe water until he was 11 months (and was having 3 meals a day as this was the only thing that was really helping the reflux and wind) x
