Carrycot pram suitable for daytime naps?

Hey girls! What makes a pram carrycot suitable for sleeping? We will not be using this for overnight sleeping, but want something easy to use downstairs for daytime sleeping. We'll be getting a travel system so keen to get one with a carrycot that is suitable for napping at home. Any suggestions?

I have the Icandy peach 7 cerium, and the carrycot is actually safe to use for overnight sleeping if you say stayed somewhere for the night that didn’t have a cot for baby 😊

They are all suitable for napping in the day (newborns sleep practically all day) just only some advertise themselves as suitable for overnight sleep and I’m Not sure what the difference is. X

Any would be fine for day time naps. I think the ones that are suitable for over night sleep have sides that are breathable etc incase baby shimmys over so the won't suffocate

The fact that the mattress is flat and (should be) firm is what makes them safe for sleep during the day. That and the fact that they’re often supervised in a pram. The ones that are classed as safe for overnight sleep usually have some sort of ventilation to prevent them from overheating during longer stretches of sleep. You absolutely can use the pram for sleep during the day. The only thing I would say is that most babies outgrow the carrycot by 3/4 months and, as advised by NHS/Lullaby Trust, all sleep should be in the same room as you for a minimum of 6 months so it’s likely you’d have to buy something else for downstairs until they’re 6 months x

I used my Oyster carry cot for daytime sleep downstairs and also if I stayed at my parents or we stayed in a hotel he would sleep in that overnight too with no issues. He grew out of it at about four months and I was gutted 😂

Once he outgrew the carrycot, for daytime sleep we put him in his next to me crib with a baby monitor. His naps were usually out in the pram (stroller part laid flat) anyway during the day but in the occasions he did do a crib nap, we used a baby monitor and when we put him to bed before we went up we used the monitor too but that’s personal choice as guidance is six months x

I have uppa baby vista 2 travel system! The bassinet is overnight safe sleep as it has vents underneath. It can also be put on a Moses basket stand x
