Milk consumption

How much milk are your LOs still taking? My daughter still asks for a bottle in the morning and at night before bed. I've tried to remove with no luck. She loves yogurt and dairy in general so it's not that she is lacking of it. But drinking too much is also bad. She also needs to stop taking the bottle so it's a fight.

How old is your daughter? I weaned mine off the bottle at 18 months by introducing water in a straw cup ( the muchkin ones that are spill proof). She only drinks milk out of a straw cup as an evening snack along with a cookie. She eats yogurt and cottage cheese and other sorts of dairy so I don’t encourage her to drink more milk. This my friend wasn’t easy as it sounds. I would suggest slowly introduce milk in a straw cup during the day to satisfy her milk needs. It could be first thing in the morning too. Night time weaning will be helpful so that she doesn’t develop something called that “nursing bottle” cavities in her teeth. Try reducing milk amount by mixing 3 parts water and introducing the spill-proof straw cup. She will resist but you have to be firm and gentle. I hope this helps. More power to you mom 💪

2 cups is doctors recommendation but I also find mine screaming for milk when he wakes up and after nap. But I always give it in a cup
