If thats the case though you should also help them stretch in that direction to fix the problem
Thanks tried a bit later and she was better! Seems dependent on the time.
My son wouldn’t latch on my left breast for almost two months. Finally in the last couple weeks he takes both equally. I think he may have just been uncomfortable turning that way, or didn’t get as much milk from that side at first and gave up.
My aunt said babies always favor one side, she used to call her left vegetables and her right chocolate 😆 🤣
For me it was that I had a super fast letdown and baby was over it! Also he was getting enough from the other side so he wasn’t hungry!
It could be that the let down is too fast, or even too slow. Its common to have a slacker boob and that can also be a reason. My son had a forceps delivery and was pretty bruised up and sore. He would refuse the right breast because of the positioning was uncomfortable. U can try a different feeding position. Rugby ball hold works well to help work out if it's a comfort/pain issue.
Both my babies have done this, almost every baby favors one boob lol sometimes they downright refuse the one they don't like... I usually give up and give them the one they want but keep offering the refused one later and eventually they go back to drinking from it. Sometimes they favor one bc its uncomfortable to turn a certain way though, u could try a dif hold so their neck is in the same position as it would be with the favored.
