Does Arya sound like a boys name?

We’re Persian and I love giving our baby boy a name that is both Persian and meaningful in our language and culture, and at the same time is easy to pronounce since we live in US/Canada. We love the name Arya and it’s only used for boys within our culture but a few friends mentioned that it’s “only” used as a girls name in Western culture …? We don’t mind a gender neutral name but naming our kid a girls name isn’t what we want. Wondering what others here think, thanks!

I love Persian culture (and now I’m going to be craving ghormeh sabzi for the next week) but I think in California - Arya leans towards a girls name.

I know Arya is considered a unisex name globally but I do think it sways female in the US.

I've only met one guy with that name but have met a couple girls so I'd say it's moreso a girl's name in America

Yeah in the US it's female sounding but every culture is different

My brother is named Arya. It’s a great name. I think it’s becoming a gender neural name here in the states.

I’ve only known girls names Arya

Love the name! But sounds like a girl name
