Apron belly/overhang

Hello, first time posting on here! I know this sounds really stupid but since being pregnant I've found my fat drop lower and lower down to the bottom of my bump which is now sort of overhanging. I'm 37 weeks and due to have a section in 2 weeks and I'm really worried that my belly is always going to have an overhang/apron. I know your abdominal muscles struggle after a section but does anyone have any positive experiences of getting rid of an overhang/apron belly?

I havnt been successful but I know you can do lots and lots of ab workouts when you’re cleared and can get a flat stomach. But sometimes women can bounce back pretty quickly and sometimes it’ll take a while. Or it might never go away. But when you do have your baby and you are cleared to work out you can just do weight loss exercises and then lots of ab and core stuff

@Gabrielle I'll definitely be getting on the exercise train once I'm cleared! I really need to get my fitness back up for going back to work 😂 it's bad that I'm two weeks to having baby and already thinking about 9 months time and returning to work! Haha

Mine has all but gone and I put it down to breastfeeding as I certainly haven't been doing any exercise! I can barely climb the stairs without getting out of breath. I do still have a "shelf" but it doesn't hang down anymore, my scar is visible xx

I had a baby last year and I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and mine is in full force and it's awful. The kids pick on it all of the time and it hangs under some shirts and I don't think to check when I'm walking around the house. It makes me feel so gross.

This is my second so after this baby I definitely want to get into shape. According to my BMI I’m obese I think. But I’m also short and have problems with losing Weight. But after this baby I definitely want to get into shape

If you were overweight/plus size pre-pregnancy, then yea you will most likely always have an overhang/pouch and only a tummy tuck would get rid of it.

@Neena not a very helpful comment...

@Katie I wasn’t trying to be hurtful, just factual, sorry if I offended you.

I’m having c section in couple weeks and worried about this too. I see people recommend ab exercises but I doubt this will work? You can do as many ab exercises as you want pre pregnancy doesn’t mean you will get slim stomach and abs.. I think it’s all about moving and eating well 😊 x. I don’t mean that in a negative way x

@Katie I don’t think that’s true either lol some people don’t think before they speak! 😆

I had a c section and don’t have an overhang, lots of core exercises after pregnancy and Pilates helped. Mine went after about 12 weeks pp x

I need to do some an workouts my daughter was so low I have an overhang. My boys I didn’t and bounced back pretty good. Like I don’t even like taking my shirt off most of the time because of it. I feel gross
