Experience with SLP - is this normal?

My almost 2 year old has a delay in expressive speech, in part due to a upper lip tie. We started therapy at the end of June, and we’ve gone weekly (as consistently as possible, between vacation and daycare illnesses lol). I felt very validated by this SLP, and her written assessment was very good. However, I’ve been concerned about some things during follow up appointments, but I’m not sure if it’s normal- since it’s our first time seeing an SLP. Her office/room is quite cramped. There’s lots of toys, but it’s kinda stuffed away everywhere in different rooms. My daughter (she’s 23 months) sits in a high chair-style chair for the entire 45 min appointment, where the therapist sits directly in front of her & does different oral-type exercises and tries to engage her in play. It’s kind of an awkward angle, so it’s hard for her to engage in the different toys she brings out at time. There’s other things that have concerned / bothered me, but I guess my main question is about the chair - is that normal for every session, for a child her age? My daughter is ULTRA quite during these sessions… I think because the situation is unnatural & frankly uncomfortable for her. Just trying to set expectations, if I decide to seek out another provider.

The way they’d do the appointments with my son is nothing but play on the floor & they visited my house. At the time I asked the lady, is this all we need to do? She said, yep, kids play by learning…. That definitely sounds more like a technical approach I wouldn’t say lazy lol but could be the start?
