Gestational Diabetes Fasting

I am due my glucose test tomorrow but never received a letter from the NHS telling me how long to fast for. If my appointment is at 8.15 do I fast from 8pm or 10pm? Conflicting info online. Thank you!! ☺️

Mine was at 8:45 and I had to fast from 11pm the night before. But you can have sips of water. X

Mines 8.40 and letter says 10pm just water to drink

mine was 8:50 and it said 11pm to fast and only sips of water x

You have to fast for 12 hours before the test

Mine was 845 and 10pm night before. If you feel thirsty small sip of water only x

I was told from 10pm night before mine was at 9am but could have water

From 12pm I had to fast

Mine was this morning. 8.15 am appt and I had to fast from 10pm last night x

Mine was 8:30am and the letter I had just said midnight the night before xx

Enjoy the glucose drink. It’s actually ok but drink it quick.

10 hours fasting is must

Such conflicting information from different nhs trusts 🙈 but thank you all for the advice. I'll air on the side of caution. Really not looking forward to this drink on an empty stomach 🤦🏻‍♀️ x

There was an info sheet in my notes so check there! I had my test today at 8am and I wasn’t allowed any food or water from midnight last night! Bit of advice: They told me to get something to eat before I left the hospital but the nearest cafe was really far away and I live fairly close so I drove home, got back and put my toast on as I started sorting the washing I came over all dizzy, I almost fainted I was sweating and could barely stand! I was in the house by myself and I had to force sugary food into myself! It was awful! I then had to lie down and fell asleep for half an hour I have felt so drained for the rest of the day! I would 100% take some biscuits 🍪 with you and don’t think you are ok like I did don’t let yourself diet to the point of feeling so bad! Xx
