Embarrassed to ask

I'm incognito because I'm embarrassed that I don't know. When you get your peak on the ovulation tests, when should you be having sex? When you are peaking? Or after? And then every other day?

Don’t be embarrassed - this is what the app is for! I’m only just getting my head around it so anyone correct me if I’m wrong but once you get your peak that means your body is going to ovulate in the next 24 hours or so, so you should have sex as soon as you get your peak! And ideally the days following. We try to have sex every other day and a soon as my tests begin to get darker, we have sex everyday as your in your most fertile window Have you got the pre mom app? That’s great to give you an idea of your levels of LH x

Hi ladies! 🤗 yes this app is for us to support each other 💜 You’re correct, you want to have sex every other day once your fertile window begins and up until the day after you get your peak on the ovulation tests. Sperm can live for up to 5 days, and the goal is for the sperm to be there to meet the egg once it’s released in ovulation. It’s important not to have sex too often because you want the sperm to be strong, that’s why having sex every other day is recommended.

@Stephanie when does the fertile window begin if it isn't when you have your peak? Is it when your period stops?

I understand when you get your peak you ovualate 24-36 hours after. I was always told to start having sex from day 8 every other day. Not every day, as the sperm is stronger every other day (done a lot now research into it too). You're basically fertile 5 days before your peak as sperm survives inside you. If you have regular cycles it's easier to know.

I test using easy@home ovulation strips and I log photos of them in the premom app. The app learns your fertile window based on the photos and whether or not you enter “positive” or “negative” opk results in the calendar. Usually your fertile window starts 5 days before your peak. If you want to start actively trying after your next period, I recommend starting to have sex every other day after your period ends, while tracking your ovulation, so that you know when you peak, and then if you don’t get pregnant that cycle, you’ll have all the info entered for the next month to start establishing your cycle trends.
