Moment of success 🥳

Second post of the evening for me BUT thought I would share a moment of success. For the first 3ish months my son who is combi fed would feed to sleep at bedtime, usually nodding off by the end of his bottle, but occasionally having a top up on the boob. As he became more alert his routine ever since has been to have his bottle, then we would rock him to sleep. So he has only ever been transferred into his next to me once already asleep (he’s now 5 months). However the last couple of days he has been REALLY fussy and whiney and wriggly when I try to rock him to sleep, feels as though he’s fighting it, then we both end up frustrated. This evening I thought I would try getting him to fall asleep in his next to me. It took a good 30-40 minutes of me laying with my head close to him, stroking his head / eyebrows / nose, holding his hands on his chest, putting his dummy back in 100 times 😵‍💫 and gently shushing… and an awful lot of leg slamming, eye rubbing and head turning on his his part. I told myself if he got upset or started crying I’d pick him up, but he didn’t, he just gradually got more and more sleepy, and eventually he fell asleep. First time for everything… hopefully the start of him being able to fall asleep in his own space. Anyone else got a baby who will only be rocked / cuddled / fed to sleep?

My baby is always fed to sleep at the moment. Well done mumma !

Well done! My LO will only be fed to sleep. We try regularly to get her off to sleep in her next to me but she’s not ready yet. These milestones are fab but our baby’s are growing so fast!

I'm able to get mine to fall asleep o n her space alone if I leave her exactly after the eye rubbing otherwise she won't fall asleep alone and is a nightmare. I think the secret is to know your baby when the best to put him down (I still fail sometimes😅😜)

My LO will now only fall asleep independently at night🥹 she likes her space😂 but naps it’s carrier only 😅🙈x
