My toddler can't clap

My son is 14 months old and has been able to wave and point for months and months, but he can't clap. I think I've seen him try once and that's it. He can do other gestures, like reaching up when he wants to be picked up, high fives, mimicking clicking fingers etc., just no clapping! Should I be worried?

I wouldn’t worry, my LO is coming up to 14 months and has clapped once or twice -and I’m pretty sure it was an accident, rather than actually wanting to clap (if that makes sense). Every baby learns at their own pace & it’s good that he can do lots of other gestures :)

I think it’s okay, no need to be worried, mine can do everything but still not pointing 🤷‍♀️

My LO can clap but can’t point or wave and she is also 14 months so I wouldn’t worry, I know easier said than done x

Ahh I needed to see this today! Just this morning I was worrying and saying to my husband “why won’t he clap 😭” 13 months old, does a silly up-and-down wave (hasn’t cracked the side to side wave yet lol), points at everything since he learnt to do that a few weeks ago, but no clapping no matter how much I try to teach him! It’s so reassuring to see it’s not just him and they’ll all get there in their own time 🥰🥰 xx

My 14 month old doesn’t clap, wave or do anything similar! He will clap my hands together or smash toys together but he just isn’t interested in anything else.
