Breastfeeding

Salam🥰 I gave birth yesterday at 8pm and I’ve been trying to breastfeed all night but no luck, my milk hasn’t came in yet? Is this normal how long does it take for it to come in?

First few days you produce colostrum, then you’ll start producing milk. Be aware though, when you start producing milk, baby will cluster feed. So very frequently baby will want to feed. And this is super hard but very good as it will increase your supply. So stay strong, you can do it xx

Wsalaam sis Make sure baby has a good latch bec my daughter didnt and i was sore for 4 months. If baby has a deep latch and sucks well it will help your milk come quicker The hospital gave me a double breast pump to help get my colostrum going. My LO lost a lot of weight in in that 1st week so i was giving her breast as well as ready made baby milk bottles for newborns as a top up. I did this for 1 week then stopped the bottles and it was just me. It was the hardest thing i ever did honestly physically and mentally however i never gave up, kept pushing and i ended up feeding for a year (would have fed longer but had to stop) Oh and stopping breastfeeding is another whole mentally difficult thing, ah i felt so guilty stopping but i had to stop. Get some decent Nipple cream and use it often. Allah make this east for you hun

Wa alaykum salaam, mine took about 5 days to come in but I think it takes less time for most people. The first few days are hard but Insha’Allah you are producing colostrum (often without realising) which is enough for the baby at first. Congratulations, may Allah make it easy for you 💕
