Vaginal Warts??

This is beyond embarrassing. I had my Pap smear and exam at my 8 week appointment. Nothing was off and everything came back clean. I had a small bump that I thought was an ingrown hair, but now at 11 weeks and 6 days, it has grown to look like a wart. Today, it’s painful. I looked down there in front of a mirror, and now there are more bumps. They are between my thigh and vagina in the crease. I’m freaking out and I’m so embarrassed. My husband was a bit of a hoe back in college when we first met, but he is 100% faithful in our marriage. I read where this can lay dormant for years and pregnancy can cause these warts to rear their ugly head. I used to work with my OB and a few of the nurses there. I’m so embarrassed to tell them what’s going on. Anyone had anything like this happen? This didn’t happen during my first pregnancy

@Jade Just adding on in case someone needs to see this: Herpes can be controlled with suppression therapy (usually valtrex starting at 36 weeks) to prevent any complications for a vaginal delivery. If the medication doesn’t work and there are lesions on labor, then CS is the safest route for baby’s

That’s what made me think herpes, but if they’re defo warts I’m not sure, given that your hormones are all over and your body is generally running hotter it could be anything

@Jade it’s just odd because everything I have seen is vaginal warts being on or in your vagina. This is just a group that is in one area in the crease between my thigh and vagina. Hoping it’s nothing to worry about it just came out of nowhere.

@Jade the big spot is 100% a wart and not a blister or open sore. I thought it was an ingrown hair then it looked like a skin tag and now this😞

It could be Herpes, it’s definitely worth getting this checked out as if this was the case it can harm the baby if you have a vaginal delivery, I understand why you’re embarrassed but it won’t be the first time they will see it! It can also lay dormant for years so you wouldn’t know you had it, it’s more common than you think I had a friend who caught it from her boyfriend who caught it from a previous partner but didn’t know, if you’re not comfortable telling your midwife maybe go to another sexual health clinic and get checked over, I think they take your blood to check x
