@Samantha I read that NHS page as saying ‘particularly’ in the first 12 weeks, meaning the risk is higher during that time but still not advisable after as the same risk is present
I was super cautious in the first trimester and I still use a bath thermometer but I’m not as obsessive now because neural tube is done forming. I went to a spa where they lowered the temp of the hot tub for me, it was great 😊 I love my baths and wouldn’t want to give them up. Baby also seems to respond happily when I take one.
I went to a spa with my boyfriend and stepdaughter a few times around that time in my pregnancy and had a facial and didn’t go in the steam room and sauna as temperature would be to hot but I went in the jacuzzi as temperatures was like a warm bath and this was approved by a doctor as i work in a doctor surgery and this is what she said I could do at the spa I also swam in the pool. I hope that helps x
I was under the impression this is just during the first trimester as it can lead to neural tube defects... https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/pregnancy/is-it-safe-to-use-a-sauna-or-jacuzzi-if-i-am-pregnant/
Baths are allowed as the temperature of them cools. Hot tubs are not as they are a constant high temperature and therefore put you and baby at higher risk. You could hang your feet into he hot tub if you want ro feel inclided whilst your there
I was recommended to use my hottub or a jacuzzi after 13 wks. So long as it's below 35degrees Celsius as I was getting hip pain and cannot go swimming
