CareMaps embryo grading

Hey! I’m with care fertility and recently had an embryo transfer. The embryologist said the embryo was a 2,2 but I have no idea how their grading works? Should have asked but as caught up in the moment. Any advice would be great.

Hey me too ! I’m hopefully in for transfer Saturday and our little one at day 2 is grade 2

Care maps gives a score from 1 to 10. “2,2” is the standard grading (like all other clinics by looking at embryo structures, so more or less equivalent to BB elsewhere from what I was told, but every clinic is different). Care map score is on the other hand with their own algorithms to tell you the chance of live birth. It’s an add-on which was included in our programme.

Hi, I had an embryo transfer Monday with care fertility, they also graded my embryo 2,2…..they said that grade 1 is the best & anything below a 3 they won’t freeze because it’s not good enough quality. So 2,2 is like middle ground which is good. Caremaps graded my 2,2 embryo a 5 out of 10 which was a 21.6% success rate. But apparently even if you got a 10 from caremaps the success rate is still only 46% so this kind of made me feel better, like it wasn’t as low of a percentage as I thought after all.

I also had a day 6 blastocyst so a bit of a slow developer, it was a day behind & the embryologist graded it a 2,2 while caremaps only gave it a 1. So she told me not to get hung up on the percentages & said just because caremaps has graded it low doesn’t mean the back up embryo isn’t going to work cos it looks nice & she’s seen them work before. But then I just think….why am I paying for caremaps then lol….well except for I really wanted the embryo Timelapse vids haha

Everyone is different of course and these are really just probabilities. It’s possible to get pregnant with any embryo regardless of grading :-)

I’ve had an day three update and my Grade 2 has gone to a grade 1 I’m very happy 😃
