Why are people so insensitive to people who have disabilities

I know someone who is pregnant and being told she won’t be a good mom because of her disability and they think she will lose the baby and saying hurtful things about her It really offends me when people try to act like a disability means you aren’t capable of things I’m a mother who has an intellectual disability with autism features and I think I’m doing a great job being a mom I don’t believe you should be treated differently because of the way you look at the world or the way you understand things not fair I’m offended because I’ve been told I was not going to be a good mother and my kids will suffer because of me

@Lesley Disability needs to be accepted you shouldn’t be treated differently or told your not good enough it’s not ok

@Latoya it’s really sad to me I don’t to see others being mistreated or told hurtful things

That is awful. Many people can’t manage to follow the extremely simple advice of “treat others as you would want to be treated.” 😔

It's so cruel and just not true. Neurodivergence is part of the population but it's so varied people try to deny you if you don't fit the mold of what they think it is and what they they you can do with zero insight to the individual
