@Alisa I’ve got a table and chair as well. I might try your tip with the towel on his lap to see if it works even though I don’t think he’ll like it and try to knock it off
My daughter was 3 in July. We still use bibs. Mainly for things like porridge or spag bol, it saves messing up her clothes. She doesn't eat out of it anymore, when she's finished she gets up and empties the bib into the bin. Personally I don't see what's wrong with keeping a bib. It saves on washing clothes... and my daughter seems to realise that what's in the bib is what she's dropped.. so needs to be thrown away.
@Jen that’s why I still use it. My son doesn’t like his hands and mouth getting wiped afterwards that’s why I was considering ditching it. Guess I don’t want to be one of those mums judged because my son still wears a bib whereas other kids don’t🤷🏻♀️
@Sophie-May if she has a sandwich or banana etc we don't use it. But messy foods we use it. I don't see what's wrong with that.. your little one is younger than mine. But as they get older just make sure they know how to eat properly (i.e. use a knife and fork). And then if they drop food who cares? The bib picks it up and saves on washing. I'd rather my daughter feels happy to eat than worry about mess
@Jen similar to what I do. I’m hoping over time he’ll realise he’s too old for it and not want it but was considering other techniques of getting rid of it if he gets to a certain age and still wants it. At the moment he can’t use cutlery independently he knows what it’s for but is probably lazy and wants me to feed him constantly😂that’s what I think as well as that’s all that matters at the end of the day
My son was just 2 in July & he’s still so messy! Hates wearing them but I can’t take the stains 🥲 if you don’t think he’s ready I wouldn’t
My son is 2.5 and we haven’t used bibs for months and months. He just point blank refused one day, I think as he got used to not having one at nursery.
I stopped with bibs around 18 months just because my son wouldn't keep them on. He also has hated the high chair since then, so he has his own little table and chair. If he's wearing something I don't want to get messy I take his shirt off and put a towel on his lap. Lol. My son is almost 2 and does pretty well with eating, but he's also a toddler so messes are expected.
