Train sound and baby hearing/damage?

I totally made a mistake of going outside when the train was coming (we live by the rail road track) to go see it with baby thinking it would be a new experience, and realized quickly that the horn sound was so loud his whole body shook and he was so scared. I went inside in about 5 seconds but I’m so worried that he was damaged in some way — he seems to hear things fine and respond normally, and he’s behaving the same as before but I’m unsure if he was severely damaged by my mistake. I know I won’t make the same mistake but feeling so bad for my baby 😭 do you think he’ll be ok???

I think that you did the right thing going back inside we live next to the railroad tracks as well as an airport and we didn’t let little man outside while they where going by till we got his ears used to loud things by slowly we played music louder and louder each cafe ride and we would do construction around him oh the house and he slowly got used to it he’s 8 months old now and loves when the train goes by or when the plains are taking off

I think it’s very likely he was just super startled. My 8 month old still gets easily scared by the sound of a loud car driving by outside or even loud unexpected laughter! He doesn’t seem bothered by loud noises he expects but when they are a surprise it totally shocks him and makes him jump and cry almost the way he does when he gets hurt. as long as your baby seems to be responding normally to auditory cues and he should be OK. You definitely want to be careful about repeatedly exposing him to loud noises such as a train horn because their hearing is sensitive. But of course if you’re concerned at all the best thing to do would be visit the pediatrician. They can easily perform a hearing test.

I live next to very busy train tracks and they blow their horn in my backyard at least a few times every day. My daughter is fine. Her hearing is perfect and she doesn't even flinch when she's sleeping. Baby was probably just a little spooked by it.

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Took 9 week old to a family party where there was loud music and she was next to the speaker for most of the time (about 3 hours). She slept through most of it. Do you think she has hearing loss from this?

Freaking out right now :(
