Am I a bitch for finding it annoying that my MIL buys my baby clothes and says ‘you (meaning me) won’t like this’

OMG THIS IS SO RELATABLE! I hate hate hate when she does this !!! I always donate it bc whats not my style might be someone elses ! Sometimes i do lie though and say it didnt fit or she grew out of it , it shrunk when i washed it lol i always tell myself to dress my baby however I want bc one day my baby wont want to wear what i want them to

Yes!!! Or colours that really don’t suit him and everyone knows they don’t. My son is a read head and so pale that red makes him look like he has an illness! But she persists in red! Or she went on and on about a “lovely” set of dungarees I’ve not put him in. They were a shade of brown with purple unicorns on them….. the colours weren’t even nice together or anything :/ Why waste the money on them if you know he won’t be put in them! Half the time he picks his own clothes with me and hasn’t picked her outfits xxx

If someone buys me clothes I don’t want my lil man to wear out I just let him sleep in it so I can still take pictures and sent it to whoever bought it but I don’t have to go out in public with something I wouldn’t dress him in
I’d just ask why she bought it then 😂. You know I’m not gunna put her in it 🤷🏻♀️
No not at all … why buy clothes for a baby that the mum won’t like … I’d just say why buy it then … if you don’t like it … you wont put it on your little one 🤷🏻♀️ I’d tell her that too xx
My MIL would buy my daughter clothes “for her house” 😂 no my children have never slept at her house.
My LO just stayed at my MILs for the first time and she bought a sleeping bag, bottles, and formula (I’m EBF and gave her plenty of my milk) as if I wasn’t going to provide those things?? I don’t get what goes through their heads - when I was pregnant we had to stop her from buying her own next-to-me crib because she thought he was going to be staying with her so often…
@Lucy My MIL is buying a moses basket for her house and I just left her to it. If you wanna waste your money go ahead. No skin off my back😂

My MIL did this recently. She bought my son overalls and told me that she knows I hate them because my husband had told her so but she got them anyway. I don’t hate them, I actually love overalls and when I asked my husband he didn’t remember telling her that so it was just all around weird lol.

Such a bitch!!! (Mil). I hate this!!!! I asked before my daughter was born to leave clothes to me! If I buy anything for babies it’s either something they’ll hopefully use (toy etc) or if theyre young enough to be in babygrows I’ll get plain white vests/grows. But will get a voucher usually. I instantly donate anything I don’t like 😂 toys as well!
I’ve had this exact situation and my reply was ‘if you don’t think I’d like it maybe just send me a picture first next time, you know I only like him in certain things and am fussy with how he is dressed 😂’ tried to make a joke out of it, but it is true she knows I will not put him in anything that isn’t my style, if you don’t think il like it, why waste your money… 😂😂😂
