Cow's milk isn't fully compatible with human gut so too much of it (and for some people even a little bit) can cause constipation. Instead of giving medicine (like someone suggested above) I'd try limiting cow's milk to see if there's any improvement! X
Hi thank you. I wasn’t interested in trying medicine. I was wondering if there was alternatives. I’m not sure if I saw someone on here saying once that their little one went on semi skimmed milked rather than whole milk and it helped or if I should straight up try oat or almond milk. My l.o only has a bottle of milk in the morning and sometimes has cereal or porridge for breakfast
I actually think oat milk tastes much nicer than whole milk! It's sweeter and has a nice creaminess to it. Hope a couple of dietary changes help your little one out ❤️ My little girl was in so much pain with it, broke my heart.
Lactulose, I got mine from doctor but u can probs get otc
And pharmacist at your local boots or chemist will be able to tell you which are suitable for LO 😊
My LO wasn't even drinking whole milk, she was breast fed, just had whole milk in her porridge but it made her terribly constipated. We've switched to oat milk (oatly barista is good) which she has in porridge every day and drinks 1 cup a day. Alongside that she still has other regular dairy products (yogurt, cheese etc) and she no longer struggles with constipation. We also include other things in her diet that help keep things regular like prune puree and ground flaxseed mixed into her porridge. I'm not a medical professional but feel and have read that dietary changes should be attempted first before putting child on medication. If the dietary changes don't work then definitely seek some medical advice.
