Princess Royal for me was amazing, I was induced, in for 4 days, ended up having an emergency c-section, but couldn't fault the care we received.
PR 100% I would not step foot back in ESH. My sister also moved from ESH to PR.
Princess royal 100%! I moved from east Surrey hospital to Princess royal and the care I received at princess royal was 1000 times better!
Princess royal twice for me and both times amazing. I was really anti nhs birth with my first one and wanted to go private but made no sense for us to go thru the process in London so was quite upset/ anxious as I’m not a big fan of nhs but they were truly amazing! One tip get a private room if you can it’s not a massive cost but you don’t really want to share a room with other people when you just gave birth if you are lucky it’s not full and quiet if you’re not you will have loud relatives/ people constantly being on their phones etc
I had my first at east Surrey and hated it, had my second at Worthing
Would never go back to ES. Was a horrible experience
Help me lovelies, I’ve got appt tomo at Crawley hospital. When I filled self referral, I hadn’t done haywards heath area… Also if u could explain why east Surrey isn’t great
Quick question- if you have had your baby at ES but would like to change hospital to princess royal for your second child- how would go about doing that?
@Moneeza I just told my midwife I wanted to change and she gave me the number for the different hospital to sort out a booking appointment and went from there x
My birth at ES was amazing. Only had to stay in for 1 night but the care I did receive was really good. I can't fault it! 😊 x
I would definitely not have my second one at east Surrey the maternity triage in my opinion was awful always made me and my partner feel worthless and not heard and I ended up being severely anemic because they stopped doing blood test after 24 weeks so had to have 2 blood transfusions and I had a emergency C-section I just felt like the midwife’s saw me as just another person to pop a baby out instead of an individual and the after care on burstow was horrendous not enough staff to patient’s and mostly got left alone the whole time.although I can’t fault the nicu at east Surrey they was amazing kept us up to date on everything and explained everything in detail. X
I’ve had all three of my babies at princess royal and had fantastic experiences all three times c
I have to say east surrey in regards to the labour and delivery were incredible for me and went above and beyond after a complex birth to keep me comfortable and deliver baby well. I have allergies and health issues and they made sure to accommodate me by sending a midwife to the shop to get me food I could eat! My only issues were with the post natal ward. I felt quite isolated in my bay with a midwife popping round every 4/5 hours to do obs on baby but otherwise I saw no one and didn’t feel I was checked up on myself. Also some of the ward staff including a ward clerk had terrible attitudes and I had some clashes over how they spoke to people!
Princess Royal, they were amazing. I was under consultant care for GD and they were amazing and really reassuring. When LO was born he had to go in special care and they gave me a private room so I wasn't on the ward without my baby, which I believe is policy for them. Both special care and the ward handled the situation so well, every staff member I interacted with knew what was happening so I didn't get any upsetting conversations, even down to the coffee lady. Really supportive, couldn't fault them.
