Hi!
We are on a fairly regular schedule with our 3 month old girl but I am just wondering if anyone else's baby doesn't have an appetite in the mornings?
Our schedule (roughly) has her sleeping through the night (8/9pm through to 730/8am with one short wakeup for food anywhere from 5-630am after which she goes right back to bed)
She eats pretty consistently 5oz bottles every 3 hours during the day. (Sometimes 4 and sometimes 6, but 5 is the average)
My question is.. when she wakes up in the night for food, she will drink a full 5oz (let's say for example she woke/ate at 5am and then went back to bed until 730am). When we wake up , I get her dressed and go to feed her by 8am (3 hours since her last feed) and she has NO interest in it.. I'll keep at it until she drinks at least 2oz but then she's done with it.
Then, she doesn't eat again until 3hrs later again, at 11am.
She's pretty consistent with the amount she eats overall in a 24hr period, but I'm just wondering if we should be giving her a smaller bottle at the 5am feed to make her hungrier/eat more at the 8am? Or does it even matter at all since she's eating the same amount each 24hr day anyways

Learn more about our guidelines.I think as long as she’s eating 24-30oz/day she’s ok
Yeah, she averages 25-26 per day. Maybe she's just not a morning person! Hah I've never been a big breakfast gal either :P
Mine is the same as yours. Has a late feed around 5am for 5oz and then falls asleep. when he wakes again he doesn’t have a massive drink. Manages 2-3oz. I’m not particularly concerned, he goes 4 hours between each feed so if I’m feeding him 3 hours later I’m not surprised he doesn’t want a lot. Like Alley said, as soon as they’re having 24-30oz in 24 hours it’s ok x
Personally I don't think it matters. If baby is content it's all good
My LO is like this some mornings . If he has a full bottle at say 5am I will wait until he shows signs of hunger to feed him. I always offer after 4 hours but sometimes he doesn't want it and will be hungry an hour later.
He knows what he wants
