No longer producing breast milk?!

I’ve been breastfeeding for almost 8 months now, however I’ve noticed over the last week my boobs don’t feel full anymore. They never leak, and they’ve actually gone back to their normal size. I don’t feel my milk coming in and when my daughter feeds off me, I feel like she isn’t really getting anything. Is it normal to randomly stop producing milk?? I wanted to breastfeed for a year but now I feel like I have no choice but to stop!

This is totally normal - your breast won’t feel full or leak forever. It’s a good thing - it means your body has figured out what it’s doing. As long as daughter has normal amount of wet nappies all is fine xxx

If your weaning the milk may decrease as the demand goes down a little 💕

I worry about this sometimes, but I think it’s normal. I’ve been breastfeeding for almost 8 months and for a while now my boobs haven’t felt full and I cannot remember the last time I felt milk come in, but I do know he is swallowing and sleeping well enough to be satisfied. I also pump when I can to keep a supply in the freezer and know from that I’m still making milk! So yeah, I think it’s totally normal as time goes on for them to feel like this and supply adjusts based on demand.

Is your little one fussing at the breast and appearing hungry? When she feeds, can you see her swallowing or hear her gulping? I've been breastfeeding for 7.5 months now and my boobs don't get as full anymore or leak, but I definitely know I am still getting milk as I can see it when she drinks and can hear her gulping. Your boobs will have settled and if you're doing solids your supply will drop a bit to account for that. Also, sometimes your supply fluctuates if you're due or on your period.
