Back to work / childCare

When’s everyone back to work? Are we going back? Reducing hours etc ? This is sort of just a rant I’d my return to work call so I’m due back in feb, but they’ve now taken off my work from home day and my childcare costs are £1,000 a month for 5 days a week.. my wages aren’t much extra.. I’m at a loss on what to do 😩😩 Any advice would be great or just to see what everyone else is doing One stressed out FTM here xx

The law changed on flexible working. Your workplace needs to give you a strong valid reason why they can’t accommodate to you. https://www.gov.uk/flexible-working

What’s their reasoning for taking your work from home day away? Is it just you or all employees? Also wouldn’t you still need to pay for childcare whilst working from home? Is working part-time an option?

I’m not returning to my place of work, I have found a different job as with the situation I am in atm I don’t have the childcare to go back to what I was doing before x

I had hoped to go back full time but also in the same boat where nursery would be costing me over 1000 a month, so I am now going back after the 12 months and going back part time (3 days a week) - my mum will have her 1 day and then nursery for 2 days. It’s going to cost around £400 a month so a drastic change and it means I get to spend more time with my baby too. Would this be an option for you? X
