mines always been like this and i’ve been told it’s totally normal! well done xx
not due for 2/3 weeks should i freeze it? i’ve read it can only be in fridge for a day
yeh so i put mine in the freezer with a label on when i did it with my name and NHS number so i can take it to the hospital
Yep, fine! Freeze it and defrost it as needed ☺️
Very jealous of these syringes! I can only get about 0.3ml 😔 xc
@Alishya mine goes bright orange the further on i get 🤢 literally my last baby, it looked like sunny D! x
@Mills I have only managed to get max of 0.3mls too.
@Alishya mine looked like that with my first baby. Can’t remember much beyond that. I’m not bothering with colostrum harvesting. It was never a thing when I was having babies. Maybe I’m old school and stuck in my ways 😆
This is what mine looked like at first, then it gradually went yellow xx
How do you all actually manage to express the colostrum? I can’t seem to get the hang of hand expressing? x
@Rainé i gave up with that and used the pump - i did lose a little bit but more came out anyway. i did try hand expressing but could never get more than a drop
First time trying today and got 4ml. It’s rather tricky, I would say it’s normal as mine was a mix of cloudy and golden.
My midwife said remember 6/6/6 your colostrum/milk can last 6 hours on the side, 6 days in the fridge and 6 months in the freezer!!
@Mills https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGee97LAL/ I’ve been struggling and followed this! Felt like she coached me through it lol! I tried after a shower, and make sure you’re warm and relaxed whilst trying xx
