Cervix check

Just got my first cervix check and it hurt like hell. I am now doubting my capabilities of pushing a baby out 😭

Personally I felt like pushing a baby out hurt less than the cervix checks!

The cervix check hurt so much! But you’ve got this! 😊

I have to get another one next week. I’m literally praying my baby comes before then 😂

I was induced at 37 weeks, so I had my baby and I didn’t even make it to the appt where they check but they checked it like 3 times when I was in the hospital and that hurt worse than pushing the baby out 😂

I had my first cervix check today and it hurt so bad! I was thinking the same thing. Like how am I suppose to push out a baby if I can barely take a cervix check.

Really I didn’t feel anything from my cervix being checked.. maybe it’s because I’m only 37 weeks?

@Brooke omg 3 times in one sitting is insane 😭

@SADE that’s what I said 😭. I was looking at ceiling holding the side of the seat. I’m gonna be fully horror screaming in labor

@Casey was your cervix soft or hard? He said mine was soft and tender, so I’m guessing that’s why it was so fragile

@Antoinette oh maybe!! She just told me mine is closed 😂 guess that means it was hard

Get an epidural. It works like a charm 😂

@Casey now u gotta let me know when she checks it again 😂

@Beatriz I think I might have to, but I really wanted to avoid it if possible

Why are they requiring cervical checks?

@Lauren because I’m at the end of my pregnancy, so he wants to see if I’m going to have to be induced

I’m confused though… cervical dilation doesn’t correlate with onset of labor. So that wouldn’t tell you if you need to be induced or not. You could end up 5cm for 4 weeks or you could go from closed to 7cm in 3 hours. Any doctor that “requires” any risky procedure without proper reason is a huge 🚩. Please be careful!
