UCLH or St. Mary’s

Currently trying to decide whether or not I should transfer to St. Mary’s- biggest concern is availability of rooms when I go into labor but any feedback is welcome!

Message me and if you free to call I will tell you why not. I had my daughter at st Mary’s in March please don’t do it

I had mine at UCLH wonderful experience

UCLH was fine for me. Had it Feb last year. Was admitted straight away, had baby in the labour ward with 1 midwife and 1 trainee with me the whole time. The after birth experience was less good (midwives not that helpful) but I think it’s generally the case that the post labour wards are a bit grim. I was also the least ‘in need’ on the ward as everyone else had had a c section and had babies who were having trouble feeding.

UCLH has got the best maternity ward in London. Even my friend - doctor can confirm it. You will not find better care for premature babies in a whole England. It is a completely different experience to give birth at UCLH. You know you deal with professionals in a clean, comfortable environment.

I have birth at UCLH in October and it was an amazing experiment from before giving birth until we left the hospital we stayed two nights We were well looked after so impressive

Definitely uclh I work there and I had my baby there too amazing support extra scans as too small for age and followed my birth plan to the last minute changed as emergency, they will only change something if serious enough, also there's an amazing breastfeeding team for support gor breast or formula feeding, formula is on all wards if needed, an amazing NNU for preterm also, had section can barely see my scar 6 months pp

I had my baby in UCLH in August and my best friend had hers at St. Mary’s in October of this year and the difference in service was astounding. I’d definitely recommend UCLH, they’re very attentive and thorough.

Uclh best labour experience and service

I had both my sons at St Mary's (11 years apart) and apart from one rude midwife on the postnatal ward the second time around, I can't fault them. I had a great delivery both times with amazing care

@Kamila I’m at UCLH too and your comment made me feel so good about my choice! Been having growth scans due to my baby being small and so far I’ve had a good experience! Fingers crossed for the actual birth! 😅

I gave birth in March in UCLH and it was a way better experience than my first birth in lewisham 😖

UCLH!

Hated UCLH, transferred to queen charlottes 🫠

i chose Uclh over st marys as my partners family knows both hospitals well and would not recommend st marys at all, his brothers partner had her baby at st marys in august and did not have a great experience, i havent had my baby yet but my experience has been much better so far at uclh
