Please help! My washing machine STINKS 🤢

I’ve just moved into a new house and it has an integrated washing machine. I went to put a load of washing on and it absolutely hums 🤢 The smell is like mildew mixed with rotten eggs. I’ve taken the detergent tray out and given that a thorough clean, I’ve used Dr Beckmann washing machine cleaner and de scaler, I’ve used a vamoosh washing machine cleaner and the latest this morning is using good old white vinegar and baking soda and the smell is still horrendous 😭 Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of the smell of products I can use? I desperately need to wash clothes 😂

That sounds gross. I’d try hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and essential oils. And clean the filter. And also run it on the hottest longest setting and let it air out afterwards. I hope you get it sorted!

Put it on an empty 90 wash. Leave the door open over night to “air” it out. Check the drain filter and the pipes leading to the outside (if you can) Maybe try Calgon?

Are you able to remove the ‘blade’ parts inside the drum? Not really sure what they’re called. They can get really gross inside! X

I put neat bleach in the drawer and set it on a full 90 degree wash. Then wash out the drawer afterwards to remove any traces of bleach. Remove the drawer completely and scrub it in your sink. Wipe out the compartment where the drawer fits as best you can (can be awkward to get your hands in). Then I clean around the seals of the drum, making sure to get right into the edges (it’s amazing how quickly dirt and fibres build up!) Finally I wipe down the door and the front of the machine with some warm soapy water and a clean cloth. I would also try and clean the filter out at the bottom of the washer (mine is self clean but I check it regularly anyway) Google the make and model of your washer and you will be able to find an instruction manual to tell you how to clean the filter. Hope you get it sorted, I can’t stand a smelly washing machine 🤢

Have you checked the filter? I’d also ask the landlord/agency to send someone to clean it.
